The dessert table is always where people end up at Christmas dinner! Having a variety of tasty desserts will ensure your guests leave with full bellies and happy, thankful hearts! We have a collection of pie recipes to share with you today. All of these recipes have been submitted by a few of our caregivers and office staff members!
Pecan Pie
Ingredients:
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup corn syrup
4 eggs
Pinch of salt
1/4 cup butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups pecans
Directions:
Mix the sugar and corn syrup together. Beat in eggs. Mix the rest of the ingredients together and pour into an unbaked pie shell. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until set.
Fruit Cream Pie
Ingredients:
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 to 2 cups milk
Fruit of your choice- any amount
Directions:
Mix together the egg, flour, sugar, salt, and milk. Add as much fruit as you want. Put all in an unbaked pie shell. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake at 350 degrees until set, about40-50 minutes.
Sour Cream Apple Pie
Ingredients:
2 Tbsp flour
3/4 cup sugar
1/8 tsp salt
1 egg
1 tsp nutmeg
1 cup sour cream
2 cups diced apples
Topping:
1/3 cup flour
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/8 cup butter, subed
Directions:
Mix the filling ingredients together and pour into an unbaked pie shell. For the topping, mix flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon together. Cut in the butter until crumbly. Sprinkle the topping over the mixture. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
Rosella's Raspberry Pie
Place 3 cups of raspberries in a unbaked pie shell. Mix together 2/3 cup sugar and 4 Tbsp flour and sprinkle over the berries. Dot with 1 Tbsp butter. Top with pie crust and cut a few slits in the top. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes.
