We had the opportunity to listen to Emma Schaeffer from Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana this week and learn more about this amazing organization!
Cancer Services' mission is to "enhance the quality of life of those affected by cancer by providing meaningful resources, information, and compassionate assistance." They provide services in 11 counties and served over 4000 individuals in 2019!
Cancer patients and their families can benefit from them with services like supportive counseling, financial assistance for cancer-related services, transportation assistance, equipment and health supplies, advocacy with insurers and employers, information and referrals, resource library, nutrition education and supplies, educational workshops, massage, yoga, tai chi and exercise therapies, and wigs, hats, and scarves. They also offer specialized services and programming for children with cancer and who are affected by cancer.
