Recipe: Raspberry Pie

Updated: Jun 22, 2021

We asked our clients and caregivers to share some of their favorite recipes with us! What better way to knit us together during this time of social distancing than with shared recipes and memories?! How many times have you taken a bite of pie that took you back to your childhood kitchen table and the warm, fuzzy feelings of your youth? How many times have you thought, "This tastes just like Mom's (or Grandma's)"?

My grandmother is well known for her pies. Just thinking about her raspberry cream pie makes my mouth water! But more than the pie, I think of my grandma's sweet laughter and genuine, loving smile that comes straight from her heart! It also takes me back to my own childhood picking raspberries in the backyard with my sisters. We ate more than we put in our bucket and laughed so much it was never thought of as a "chore".

Our hope is that in sharing these special recipes from our clients and caregivers, we think back to our own childhood. We go back to the sweet times around our family table. And we cherish those memories a little bit more. And maybe, just maybe, by trying these shared recipes, we can continue those moments with our own families so that one day, they will look back and cherish these days as well.

This recipe is from our own Laura Gentis! Give this recipe a try- I'm sure you won't be disappointed!
